We take a look at a few soldiers each week who well feel has what it takes to push their game over the top. A look at a few stud muffins from recent tourneys.
Endigo Parker 6’5 C
Class of 2021
We like the potential of this big. At this stage of her development, seems to be handling the speed of the game effectively. Endigo runs the court well. Can use some development on her offensive game around the rim and being patient in terms of finishing on her shot. Very active an energetic with a good feel for the game on both ends of the court. Rim protector who has the ability to blocks shots and control them to start the break. Fits in perfect with Troy’s offensive system and should benefit from its instruction. As with any big, should continue to develop solid feet, show a willingness to handle the ball, and stretch the defense by being an offensive threat outside the paint.
Hannah Stines 5’10 G
Class of 2022
Has an all around solid game for a freshman. Handles the ball extremely well for her size with the ability to handle pressure and maneuver her way out of trouble. Very good shooting stroke from three point land. Shows positive signs of getting into the lane and making solid decisions by passing and kicking our stop and pop. Good decision making making with the rock while rebounding and pushing and /or leading the break. Emerging defensive skills with a willingness to sit and slide and pressure opponents. High basketball IQ player who will skyrocket up the recruiting charts once she gets exposure. Jury still out on whether she shows up during big games and handles elite defensive pressure. If she continues at this pace and develops over the next 3 years, Popscout has her as a 5 Star when it’s all said and done.
Anaya James So G
Class of 2021
West High School
Emerging guard out of West in Torrance, CA. Class of 2021 has showed good improvement over her freshman season where she played considerable minutes as a young buck. Would like to see her confidence rise by believing in her game and playing through her mistakes without getting too down on herself. Would also like to see the coaching staff empower her more by focusing on the positive attributes that she brings to the table versus the mistakes she makes throughout the course of a game. Decent shooter from mid to long range and shows some finesse in the paint when finishing. Should stay in the lab continuing to work on her quickness, ball handling skills, defensive pressure, and supreme confidence. With the help of her coaching staff, support from family and friends, and her willingness to stay in the lab and believe in herself, we fell this young lady has what it takes to play at the next level.
