Their mascot says it all. Trailblazers. That’s just what the Sierra Canyon Girls basketball team does. They get out and run like horses family. Those attributes were on display Wednesday Jan 02, 2019 as they hosted Chino, outpacing them by a wide margin. It took little effort dismantling Chino’s game plan. Sierra Canyon pretty much did as they pleased.
As Sierra Canyon begins to make their playoff push, there’s a new star arising and her name is Alexis Mark.

Alexis Mark is beginning to put her imprint on games family. Not only is she Popscout’s 2018 lock-down defender of the year, she appears to be headed for a repeat. Pesky could be a great adjective to describe her play against opposing teams. She plays solid help defense as well, showing the ability to read and react, help and recover. Let’s not forget about her offensive skill-sets, which are rounding into form. She finishes around the rim and runs the floor like a soldier, showing decent ball handling and shooting stroke skill-sets at this stage in her development. Sierra Canyon Head Coach Alicia Komaki allows her players to express themselves which become ‘brownie’ points towards the maturation of any players’ game.
With that being said, if Alexis continues to stay in the lab, she’s headed for 5 Star status. No questions asked. We’ve also seen players slip into the cracks when their name gets called. Not quite ready to handle the lime-light of being a ‘one to watch’. We feel this young lady will have no issues whatsoever accepting her role as a ‘Top Dog, Boss Hog’, once scouts begin to notice the hidden qualities of her game.
