Big O shining during The 2018 Classic @ Damien

Chino Hills may be without the Ball Brothers but it hasn’t stopped Onyeka Okongwu from putting in work.  The USC commit is displaying all around skills from rebounding, to long range wet balls, to finishing around the rim during the 2018 Classic @ Damien.  An after Christmas stocking stuffer indeed. He protects the paint with the best of them but we are a bit concerned that he appears to be reluctant to rebound and push.We would love to see Big O make a block, control it, then push and make solid decisions.  Be fancy young man.

We would like Big O to be conscious of handling the ball more in transition. Fine tune your decision making skills with the rock in your hands.  You have absolutely nothing to lose but to see how well you can develop that aspect of your game.  Coach, give him the reins to do so

Bigs can develop their ball handling skills and decision making before going to college. We don’t want Big O to get to the next level and God forbid he looks one dimensional. Now is the time to get these issues out in the open and under your belt. During your high school playing days.

Big O is special.  Continue to finesse your game and always look to add more and more to your plate.  Handle that rock and be willing to make mistakes.  It’s part of the process so don’t take it serious when you do make a mistake and then feel as if you shouldn’t be handling the rock.  You look good when you dribble and handle family.  Don’t even trip.

It was a pleasure to see this young man stay at Chino Hills for all four and honor his commitment to his original high school.  He could have bounced easily but stayed true.  Something to tip our hats to.  A few clips of him during the 2018 Classic @ Damien.
