Alemany lets one slip away

One. The world used in the hood when cats are on the same page. Crespi coaching staff is one, staying poised and defeating Alemany 89-85 in OT, after being down by 10 with 2 minutes left in the game. Popscout

Alemany (13-9, 3-4) let one slip through the cracks, losing to Crespi on the road 89-85 in OT Wednesday January 24, 2018.  The Warriors were up by 10 with about 2 minutes and some change remaining.  It wasn’t enough of a lead as Brandon Williams has been seen in beast mode attire since his return from IR last season.  The kid put up 52 against a very stout Alemany ball club, even with 7’0 center Fred Odhiambo anchoring the middle.  The coaching staff for Crespi did a great job down the stretch, believing in their system and  allowing their kids to play through their mistakes, in a game that saw multiple lead changes and players getting their chance to shine.  Crespi is now in the drivers seat, notching 20 wins (20-2) and 7-0 in league play.  They take on Loyola tonight at 7pm, on the road in what is sure to be a hostile environment on the campus of Loyola.

Alemany must take this loss is stride and continue to push forward. Sometimes it’s a tough pill to swallow when a team has a game in the bag but let it slip away. We love the play of developing 6’0 So. PG Brandon Whitney – developing that swag and style of play that gets D1 recruiters intrigued.  Looks as though Alemany has developed a PG ‘revolving door’, where players are excelling under the tutelage of head coach Tray Meeks, heading straight out of Alemany’s gym door and into the hands of welcoming college programs.  Alemany hosts SO Notre Dame tonight at 7pm.  A must win for the Warriors.
