Fairfax wins Beverly Hills Tournament

Fairfax (5-1) defeats Long Beach Poly (6-2) to capture the ‘Ship, ending the 77th Annual Beverly Hills Boys Basketball Tournament by a score of 63-52.   Robert McRae was crowned Tourney MVP  – but it’s the play of Kirk Smith during the Tourney Final that stood out the most.

2018 6’8 F Kirk Smith didn’t capture any plaques during the 77th Annual BH Tourney, but his play stood out the most during the ‘ship. Big time players, make big time plays, in big time games.  Period. (PopScout)

In a game dominated by mostly guards, he had his way down low,  being special on the block and getting fed while doing so.  He was just too much to handle inside for a scrappy, well coached LB Poly team – who may night have all the bells and whistles –  but still gives us that high-octane caliber play that’s going to be a tough out, for many teams, who don’t have the swag that Poly naturally posses, due to their quality coaching staff and history of being great.

Take a look at a few clips as we spotlight Fairfax High and Class of 2018 F Kirk Smith – who’ll be a key component in deciding whether or not The Lions can Hold the Rope, bond together, and ‘weather the storm’ for City and State bragging rights come March Madness.
