PopScout is always out and about, looking for players who’re as passionate about the game as I was. I can remember crying many of nights because of the passion I felt for the game of basketball. We would like to spotlight players (if you don’t mind) we fell carry this same passion on the court. We never met any of these young ladies and can only relate to them based on their play and the little things they do on the hardwood. Yes, it has to do with how well you play and maybe we do focus on star players a bit too much. With that being said, don’t be surprised if you get a mix tape just focusing on your leadership qualities as a player and no actual basketball plays.
As the John Burroughs Tourney starts this week in Burbank, CA, LaSalle of Pasadena(CA) comes in with a 6-0 record, after playing a few tune up opponents in the San Marino Tourney. We got a chance to visit San Marino High and see one of the players we feel carry that passion we’ve talked about on the court, as if it was baggage. We spotlight Julia against Glendale, where she shows some magic and keeps her team undefeated with a 61-50 win November 28, 2017. It gets tough from this point forward, as Julia and Co. open Tourney play Monday, December 4, 2017 against powerhouse Alemany.
