Shot callers. Those who handle the rock on a day to day basis and are an extension of the Head Coach. Point Guards these days must have the ability to run the show, make their teammates better, as well as score the rock. 6’2 PG Gianni Hunt handles the PG duties for Bishop Montgomery – who will be ranked nationally once the 2016-17 campaign jumps off. As a freshman last season, he showed poise and grit – allowing Bishop Montgomery to advance deep in the Open Division Playoffs. He – and the entire BM squad -will certainly have chips on their shoulders, and rightfully so. Gianni will be out to prove that he is one of the up and coming PG’s in the state of CA -having made the Top 30 game at the recent Pangos F/S Camp.
We sat down with Gianni Hunt during the recent Pangos All Frosh Soph. Camp held September 24-25, 2016 at Cerritos College, that featured up and coming stars of the future. Bishop Montgomery is locked and loaded this season – with 4 major D1 recruits on their squad, it’s going to be interesting to see how far they can go – seeking to capture Open Division and State Championship rings. Going to be some great match ups this season to see who really deserves to be a top recruit – and best team – in the state of California.
