PopScout High School football game of the week features Sherman Oaks Notre Dame vs the Alemany Warriors. The game featured two Arizona commits in #1 6’6 WR Warren Jackson of Alemany and #8 DE Kylan Wilborn of SOND – who I’m sure will be moving to the linebacker position on the collegiate level. We love the execution of both teams, in particular SOND – whose long time coach Kevin Rooney definitely has a lot of tricks and schemes up his sleeve. Alemany was just too athletic and prevailed by a score of 45-35.

Sr. RB Cayden Dunn is a nice looking prospect – flying under the radar at the current moment with no D1 offers. He took the bulk of the carries for Alemany – had to be 30 plus – but one asks the question: why in the hell is Alemany giving a kid 30 plus carries so early on in the season? The wear and tear of the game is too much – especially in this competitive Mission League – and this kid is either going to be injured come playoff time or won’t have any gas left in his tank to be productive, if Alemany continues to use him in this fashion. Coaches…it’s imperative that you establish a two back rotation, so that you don’t burn out your star players come playoff time. It seems that younger, inexperienced coaches aren’t aware of this fact – until it smacks them in the face.
