Eyassu Worku was a joy to watch this season, as he showed everyone why he was a top recruit – and one of the best PG’s to push the rock this season. The kid should’ve had more looks from major DI schools but he’ll fit in nicely at UC Irvine. With his advanced ball handling skillsets and court demeanor, he should be able to contribute immediately for the Anteaters. Many feel as though UC Irvine under achieved this year. They didn’t make the NCAA tourney and missed out on the NIT as well. UC Irvine took it in stride and made the most of their post season selection – playing in the CIT Tournament. The Anteaters advanced by beating Coastal Carolina by a score of 66-47 and will play for the CIT Tournament Championship against Colombia Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 7pm. Looking forward to seeing Jaron Martin (Chaminade Graduate) showcase his West Coast ball handling and shooting skills for the Anteaters. Some might say that a ring is a ring at the end of the day.
Here’s a few clips of Eyassu Worku during the 2016 Nike Mater Dei tourney against Fairfax High, CA. Continue to work on your game young soldiers and become as great as you can be – on and off the court.
