What if your brother was an All-American Point Guard, slated to be the next big thing? Would you latch on to him like a road rage driver in rush hour traffic and learn as much as you can? Of course you would. The Ball Brothers have done something no other family has done. All three brothers currently play at the Varsity level – and compete at a high level. The team currently has 30 notches in its belt with no defeats. The Huskies look for another victory Saturday March 5, 2016 at the Honda Center where they take on Sierra Canyon for the CIF SS Open Division Title – and bragging rights all summer long ya dig.

LaMelo Ball is a Freshman PG who currently stands 5’10. He’s shown great poise and confidence on the court – where freshman normally would carry the bags of Seniors. This young buck has held his own – from the Summer AAU circuit to playing his first high school season at Chino Hills – it appears as though he’ll be able to slide in and accept responsibility of running the team next season. Nobody can replace Zo, but with the guidance and experience of playing along side his big bro’ – should be enough to catapult him to Super SOPH status next season. The kid has already made a verbal to UCLA. Good Lord! The stage is set for an epic match up between Chino Hills and Sierra Canyon. Let’s hope the lights aren’t too bright for this freshman phenom.
Take a look at a few clips from the Championship game of the 2015 Maranatha Tourney where Chino Hills was able to hold on for the win against a very good, well coach Crespi Squad. We spotlight Melo and Zo as they go ‘Bombs Away’ from three point land and showcase their skills. This is definitely a game coaches may want to scout if you need an idea on how to attack Chino Hills and their very unorthodox style of play. Although Chino Hills came out on top, Crespi gave them all they could handle (Crespi should, btw, win another State Crown in their perspective division). If Chino Hills has a cold shooting night and Zo’s off his rocker I mean game, then look for Sierra Canyon and their very battle-tested squad to jump on the opportunity and pull off an upset.
