The Next Big Thing

Freshman Cassius Stanley (Class of 2019) who plays for Harvard Westlake of Studio City, CA is definitely one to watch.  The 6’5 Freshman Wing is a unique talent.  He handles the ball well (runs the Point at times), has a nice mid range game, and gets to the rack at will.  He is still raw and needs to develop his game, like all freshman, but this kid has something special.  We were able to see him shine against two well coached squads in Alemany and Crespi.

I was a bit concerned about his swag on the court because he has a tendency to handle the rock and tries to beat his man to the rack and force the issue.  But you can definitely count on him to bring the wood each and every game.  He has a nice jump shot and very, very good hops.  He also finishes around the rim as if he was a Senior.  On the defensive side of the ball, he shows good footwork and was willing to accept the challenge and check the best player on the opponents’ squad each game we filmed.

At the end of the day, we really like what we see in this kid and we give him 5 Stars as a freshman.  The kid can go and if you get a chance to check him out, get ready to develop a mixtape after the game because he will surely please and give you some great highlights to showcase.  Keep your head on strong young man, continue to work on your game as if you have none.   Looking forward to you maturing in the years to come.
